Carry-on baggage 

It is a type of luggage that passengers are allowed to carry along in the plane’s cabin. Each airline has specific rules.

Checked baggage

The checked-in baggage is the luggage that is carried by passengers on board and stored in the cargo hold. It is also called cargo baggage. Each airline has its own rules for the dimension and free weight allowance. Oman Air has its own allowance and baggage policy. 

Economy Class

First Class

Passenger with Infant is allowed 10 KG extra weight on all First, Business and Economy Fare Brands (RBDs) except Economy Super Saver.

Sindbad Members:

• Passenger with Infant is allowed 10 KG extra weight on all First, Business and Economy Fare Brands (RBDs) except Economy Super Saver.
• The total dimension of checked baggage should not exceed 158 cm with 32kg as a maximum weight per bag.
• Passengers are allowed to carry a carry-on bag up to 7kg with a maximum dimension of 115 cm.
• Baggage that exceeds the allowed dimensions or weight will be subjected to Extra baggage fees. 

Special Baggage

Oman air has a free allowance for special baggage like sporting, and musical baggage, in case of exceeding the standards of weight or dimension extra fees will be applied. We suggest you check in early at the airport in case you have a special bag.

TV screens:

• Up to 43”: Maximum 23 KGs Accepted within Allowance
• 44” to 55”: in case the weight exceeds 32 KGs, extra charges will be applied 
• More than 55”: will be shipped in cargo Only

Sports Equipment:

Oman air supports a list of Sports equipment like

• Exceeding the dimension or weight, you have to contact Oman Air’s cargo team

Musical Instruments:

Your musical instruments could be carried in both cabin or cargo according to its weight and dimension.

• Cabin Baggage

If the instrument doesn’t exceed the standard weight and dimension will be considered instead of the hand luggage ( 7kg weight - 115cm)

Extra baggage weight

Passengers who would like to purchase extra weight in their hand luggage or checked luggage, Please check Oman Air website for more information about the extra baggage weight fees.

Pets policy 

Travelling with pets ‌needs a lot of preparation before departure. Oman Air has its own policy of traveling with pets according to the IATA code.

• Pets must be carried either as cargo, or as checked baggage in the hold
• Pets cannot be considered as part of the baggage allowance
• charges will apply in all cases, even when no other check-in baggage is being carried

Guideline to travel with pets 

• You should be at the airport before your 4 hours prior to your departure time 
• Allow the pet acclimatize to its kennel 5 days prior to flight departure
• Give a light meal and/or water 2 hours before departure
• Walk the dog just before flight departure.

Pet as cargo applies in the following cases:

1. If the weight of the kennel with pet exceeds 75 kgs and/or 292 cm.

2. Your pet is not travelling with you in same flight.

3. Your pet is travelling to a country whose authorities only allow the transportation of pets as cargo.

Special rules apply to service animals that have been trained to assist passengers with disabilities, or rescue teams.
