Day 1
Arrival in Sarajevo and Old Town Tour
Arrive in Sarajevo and get transferred to your hotel. You can check in and freshen up before embarking on a tour of the Old Town, where you can see many exciting attractions, including the City Hall, Gazi Husrev Bey mosque and Turkish marketplace. Be amazed by the unique blend of Ottoman and Austrian influences on their architecture and visit the site of Archduke Franz Ferdinand's assassination, which resulted in the First World War almost 100 years ago. Finish off the day on a more pleasant note with some delicious Bosnian cuisine.
Day 2
Sarajevo city tour
Take a scenic drive to the Spring of the Bosna river and laze around in the lush, natural greenery of the region. You can take a stroll or opt for a horse-drawn carriage ride by the pine trees. The excursion will also include a trip to the 'Tunnel of Hope', which was built during the Bosnian war in 1993 and was the only way to get humanitarian aid and food into the city when it was under siege. Finally, head to the majestic Trebevic mountain and enjoy panoramic views of the city while relaxing with some refreshments at the local restaurant located on top of the mountain. You can also go for an Alpine Coaster ride at an additional cost.
Day 3
Travnik tour
Enjoy delicious breakfast at your hotel before making your way to the town of Travnik, which had an Ottoman fortress guarding it. You will visit an iconic colourful mosque, try out some sumptuous kebabs (at an additional cost), get insight into the traditional rural lifestyle on this excursion, and make some new friends.
Day 4
Sarajevo's Olympic Mountains visit
Gear up for a drive to the nearby mountains, famous for being the venue of the 1984 Olympics that reintroduced the world to Sarajevo. You can enjoy a cable car ride up, admire the stunning views around, and breathe in some fresh mountain air.
Day 5
Herzegovina tour
After a hearty breakfast, you will explore the natural scenic beauty of Herzegovina. During the tour you will visit the iconic Old Stone Bridge in Konjic, the old town and the iconic Stari Most bridge in Mostar, and Blagaj before heading to Pociteli, an Ottoman town set in an amphitheatre. Next on schedule is the opportunity to explore the unique architecture and go for some souvenir shopping before finally making your way to the beautiful Kravice waterfalls, the largest waterfall in the entire region.
Day 6
Free day
You have the rest of the day at leisure. You can relax at the hotel or explore the city on your own, sample some traditional dishes and interact with the locals.
Day 7
Bijambare Caves trip
You will visit Bijambare, a vast forest reserve that covers over 370 hectares of land. Immerse yourself in the region's greenery and visit an ancient cave complex that will leave you in complete awe. Finish off the day by taking a mini-train ride to a traditional Bosnian village where you can opt to have lunch if you want (at an additional cost ).
Day 8
Departure from Sarajevo
Enjoy breakfast and go for some souvenir shopping. Visit some of your favourite attractions in the city one last time before you bid the jewel of the Balkans farewell. Have a safe flight back home!
