Shota Rustaveli Avenue

Formerly known as Golovin Street, Rustaveli Avenue owes its name to the medieval Georgian poet, Shota Rustaveli. A stone’s throw away from Freedom Square and a short walk from Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre, this avenue is always teeming with activities.This is also a historic street for the many protests and attacks that it has  witnessed, including many anti-government protests.
