Makkah Museum

This 3435-sq-metre museum features Makkah’s heritage and reflects the teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet. It was formerly known as Al Zahir Palace and houses a collection ranging from Saudi Arabia’s important archaeological discoveries to exhibits on pre-Islamic history. There is an exhibit which showcases the origins of Islamic calligraphy with references to Arabic fonts.
