The British Museum

With a wide collection of artefacts dating back to thousands of years, this museum offers a memorable walk through history. Founded in 1753, it now comprises over 8 million objects from classical and medieval antiquities to 20th century and contemporary collections. Visitor numbers have grown from around 5,000 a year in the 18th century to nearly 6 million today!
