Geneva Water Fountain (Jet d'Eau)

Founded in 1886, the Geneva Fountain was moved to its present location in 1951 and is now a major tourist attraction worth visiting. The fountain shoots to a height of 140 metres and can be seen across the city. Night-time visits are lovely, with mesmerising lights shimmering on the water. A gentle stroll around the lake followed by a meal at a nearby café or restaurant is a great way to unwind.

Fun fact

The fountain pumps 500 litres of water per second.
