Rousseau Island

Named after French writer and philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau – and boasting his statue – this central park was surrounded by walls at the end of the 16th century, acting as a bastion. It was turned into a shipyard in 1628 and took on Rousseau’s name in 1832. Today, the park is home to beautiful birdlife.
