National Museum & Wang Na Palace

Established in 1874, The Bangkok National Museum is where you can admire the largest collection of local art and artefacts in Thailand. The museum is built on the former grounds of the 18th Century Wang Na Palace and features three exhibitions divided into 12 halls. One of the must-see collections featured at the museum is the ‘King Ram Khamhaeng's Inscription’, which was inscribed on UNESCO's Memory of the World Programme. The museum also houses collections such as ‘The Archaeological and Art History’ collection, which showcases items from Thailand's prehistoric eras through to the modern Thai Kingdom. You will also find a funeral chariot hall that displays carriages that were once used for royal cremations.
