Established in 1782, The Grand Palace was the former royal residence in Bangkok. Today, this complex is considered a museum and the city’s biggest tourist attraction that is often used for ceremonial occasions. The complex features four main courts that are usually accessible to the public. The outer court is where the royal offices are located, and the middle court is where you will find state apartments and ceremonial throne halls. The inner court was reserved only for the king’s wives. The palace also houses the famous Emerald Buddha statue.
