Palace of the Shirvanshahs

This former residence of the Shirvanshahs’ rulers is composed of several historic buildings. In addition to the palace, you’ll find a courtyard, courthouse, burial vault, and a mosque built in 1441, featuring a minaret, bathhouse and mausoleum of the court scholar, Sayid Yahya Bakuvi. The site was built between the 13th and 16 centuries and included on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2000.

Fun fact

In 1964, the palace complex was declared a museum-preserve.
